“Two people in love, alone, isolated from the world, that's beautiful.” ― Milan Kundera

We had this idea involving some couples we know and their beds. As candidly as possible, what would a photograph look like when there is no posing involved? This is essentially allowing the couples to be themselves under the scrutiny of the camera, on their own terms. This could work in theory, and provide some interesting images, and these photographs would no doubt be unique.

The process of taking these photographs was the most difficult part of this project. We first mount the camera near the ceiling, run a USB cord to the trigger PC near the ground, and program the camera to shoot. Then we do the lighting and install other needed doohickies, and we start shooting.

Now, it must be clarified, that when this idea was in its inception, we decided to do a photo journal piece with interviews to match the pictures from each couple. However, this turned out to be a bad idea, and the interviews were deleted soon after.

But regardless of the all the surprises and events that have occurred during this project, the images are indeed beautiful. So far, we shot 2 couples, and are looking for 8 more. If you're interested in this project, and live in the Denver metro area, let us know.
